Event Details
Area carvers show their carvings and compete in novice, intermediate, and open class with ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. $25 is awarded to 1st place winner. A best-of-show selected by the public and one by fellow carvers will be awarded with a ribbon and $50. Some supplies for carving along with wood will be available. There will be a silent auction. Food will be available at the Cafe La Belle.

Sir James Dunn Academy, St. Andrews by the Sea. Carvers at all levels. Classes for all types of woodcarving: decorative birds, fish and animals, decoys, caricatures, relief, chip, chainsaw and pyrography. Purchase awards: Any 60% loon and chick ($1500); 50% bald eagle ($1500); Santa ($300); saw-whet owl for the 2020 raffle ($300); youth carving ($150). Two theme competitions: any warbler and nature at night. Workshops, demonstrations, carving supplies, knife carving competition.

Baton Rouge Antique Louisiana Decoy Show August 16 & 17, 2019
Greetings, Decoy Collectors, Carvers! 2019 will be our 8th year for this Event. We are honored to continue the show again this year partnered with the BREC Foundation and the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center located at 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway Baton Rouge, LA 70810. For 2019, the Louisiana Antique collectors are excited to announce that we will have a two-fold theme. First, “Western Louisiana Carvers” will be honored; second, an exhibit entitled “Folk Art at its Finest” which will feature some of the most unique Antique Louisiana Decoys crafted.
Hospitality Banquet
Friday Evening August 16th at 6:30 pm
I need to INFORM everyone that we are having to relocate our Banquet Dinner due to our original restaurant closing for renovations and cancelling our reservation. The new location is easy to get to. (See Attached Map with directions show from the Hyatt Place Hotel where our room block was negotiated):

The dinner will still begin at 6:30 pm and the meal cost is unchanged at $36.50 (all inclusive price) per person which includes an entree, salad, starch, vegetable, breads, tea, coffee and dessert.

Fees include admission to the fair. $50 first prize open and best of show, $35 first intermediate, $25 first novice and bench. Rosette ribbons to first, second, third.
