          Pictured are these Cajun Santa Claus, they are carved with mallard ducks pulling the pirogue and the boat is filled with presents.

 

 

Cajun Santa Claus
Cajun Santa Claus is fixed in a pirogue on a plaque pulled by five mallard ducks. Plaque measures 23 1/2 inches long - 6 inches wide. Santa is 5 1/4 inches high and 2 3/4 inches wide. Pirogues verage about 12 inches long by 3 inches wide. Pirogue is full of presents all wrapped up ready for delivery on Chrismas morning - Santa also has bag of  gifts on his back but ( DO NOT OPEN UNTIL CHRISTMAS ).Has 5 mallards pulling pirogue because in Louisiana there are places even a deer would have trouble passing and also it gives Rudolph and the other reindeers a chance to have a little break. Santa is holding the reins to guide the ducks. Ducks have bridles in their mouths - excuse me , their bill. This is Cajun carving at it's very best .

 

                           

 

 Cajun Cadillac -Pirogues
LOUISIANA CAJUN PIROGUE- This pirogue measures 12 inches long - 3 1/4 inches wide - 2 1/2 inches high on plexiglass stand which is 10 3/4 inches long - 4 1/2 inches wide. This pirogue is made out of cypress, comes complete with paddle - pushpole - saw - hatchet - carving knife - 1 finished decoy and 1 decoy in the carving stage. This is a fine example of fine Cajun craftmanship . Fixed so that it can be used to put on a desk or counter with your own business cards in the pirogue itself. On the plaque it is signed Cajun Cadillac .

                            

Custom Deluxe Pirogue
Hand made pirogue made the way (parden the expression) a cajun that had a few bucks. It was made with rib frames so it could hold extra weight and for added protection it has what I call a floor frame added so that when you walked in the pirogue you would not pass thru the floor. Then when you went fishing or hunting if bait or shotgun shells would drop between the cracks when you got back all you had to do was raise the floor frame and take it out, after just put it back in place. Pirogue is 25 inches long -6 1/2 inches wide. Plaque is 25 inches long and 11 inches wide. Has 4 sets of floor frames that can be taken on and off - 2 miniature ring neck decoys - 3 3/4 inches long - 2 inches wide - 2 3/4 inches high. Also has a carved handsaw - carved hachet and carved carving knife most of the tools used to make the pirogue and decoys.
